India’s First Centralized AC Railway Terminal to be Setup in Bengaluru

Bengaluru will be now India’s first centralized AC railway terminal furnished with state of art facilities. Ministry of Railways Mr. Piyush Goyal has tweeted pic of upcoming model of Bengaluru Railway station. It will be the first India’s railway transit infrastructure.

The Indian Railway is working on a modern coaching terminal at Baiyappanahalli which will now have airport like facilities. The Visvesvaraya terminal have got budget of Rs.314 crore and all set to be inaugurated later this month. Visvesvaraya is Bengaluru’s third railway terminal in the Baiyappanahalli area.

The station will feature 4200 square kilometre terminal with seven platforms which will have three enabling lines and three pit lines.

The Visvesvaraya railway station is expected of running at least 50 trains running on an average day and terminal is expected to handle about more than 50,000 daily commuters.

All the platforms will be joint by two subways and a long oval foot over bridge. The pretence of newly built Visvesvaraya railway terminal is inspired with Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.

The parking lot of terminal will have the space of 900 two wheelers and 200 cars, 40 autorickshaws,5 to 6 BMTC and around 20 to 30 cabs and is expected to be get going services by month end.

South Western Railways previously stated that new Visvesvaraya terminal will reduce passenger burden from the KSR Bengaluru and Yesvantpur.

The terminal will include a upper class waiting lounge, a large food court, a separate lounge for VIP guests, a digital real time info hub

According to the reports the railway terminal will also have its own water recycling plant of 4 lakh liter capacity.
