Apple designer Bart Andre one of the long-time serving employees has reportedly decided to call it quits after over 30 years with the tech giant.

Bart Andre, who joined back in 1992 alongside popular designer Jony Ive, served as one of Iv’es top lieutenants on the industrial design team.

Andrew worked on defining the appearance and traits of many major Apple products over the past three decades.

Andrew’s exit from from tech giant marks one of the last remaining senior designers from the Ive era.

Ive’s core team helped envisage Apple’s products like the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch have moved on over the past few years.

First, Jony left the organization in 2019, and since then senior designers like Colin Burns, Peter Russell-Clarke, and Shota Aoyagi left the company around the end of 2022.

This brain drain reflects that some people who are good at designing, are still leaving the organization which means there are some problems in-house.

Industrial design teams and Software design teams both currently report to Jeff Williams, Apple’s Chief Operating Officer.

Although Jeff is excellent at operations, he lacks designing background. Some cost-cutting measures under Jeff have reportedly also annoyed staff.

The rapid changeover shows how much the organization has changed now compared to when Jony’s small, close design team worked for over a decade perfecting beloved products.

Today, the company has replenished its team with fresh talent recruited from outside Apple.

The design group plays a vital part in envisioning new Apple devices and software. They craft carefully small details for products like, iPhone ringtones and Apple Watch Cardio tap.

The design team was also influenced by new product categories like Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro.

Update on Apple Vision Pro

Apple Vision Pro’s early adopters in the US are already returning the device.

People who have used it for a few days are now criticizing its uncomfortable fit, the tendency to induce motion sickness, and mostly its hefty price tag.

Unsatisfied users are taking advantage of Apple’s 14-day return window and are sending back the VR headset.
