Indian Railway Safai Abhiyan:
Some special categories of Indians are good at painting town red without hand brush, they do it by mouth brush. Yes, you understood right what I am talking about. Chewing of Pan, Tobacco, Gutkha, and spitting.
The government has already implemented the rule of 500rs fine for spitting and littering on railway property, but still, there is no change in people’s behavior.
So, the Indian Railway has come up with an ingenious method to tackle the spitting problem.
Indian Railway Hired A Start-up EzySpit To Prevent Public Spitting.
EzySpit has come up with a pocket-sized reusable and biodegradable spittoon with seeds.
Its use is like when it is disposed of it will grow in form of plants which is the latest green innovation technology.
Spittoons are generally like ashtrays; it is used for saliva.
To avoid public spitting at railway properties, Spittoon Pouch Kiosks are being set up at 42 stations at a minimum price of Rs.5 to Rs.10.
Green Product Initiative
The product comes in three variations…
- Pocket Pouches (10 to 15 times Reusable)
- Mobile Containers (20 to 40 times Reusable)
- Spit Bins (5,000 times Reusable)
The product is portable, which allows travelers to spit as per their wishes without any stains.
Spittoons have macromolecule pulp technology and are accoutre with a material that locks in bacteria and viruses present in saliva.
The pouch comes in different magnitude which contains seeds along with a material that soaks up the spit and turns them into a solid.
It can be hurled anywhere as it is biodegradable. One of the additional benefits of it is, if it is thrown in soil, it helps the seeds burgeon.
Benefit Of Green Biodegradable Product
According to railway officials, the product will benefit senior citizens as the gutkha, pan masala spread germs that cause deadly diseases like Swine flu, TB, etc.
The Nagpur-based company EzySpit has already started installing the vending machines at the stations.
A contract has been signed with Nagpur and Aurangabad Municipal corporation.
This scheme has been awarded under a non-fare revenue scheme.
So, it’s a big effort made by the government to keep the railway premises neat and clean and its public duty to adhere to it.
Cleanliness and Neatness represent the culture of our India, and India has a large number of rail networks in the world and is one of the best tourist places in the world which entertains foreign tourists in colossal numbers.
