A lot of us love animals, so much so that many of us even have pets. Alas, every time you plan an outing to unwind or explore you have to leave your adorable furry friends behind at home or if you’re fortunate enough, in the care of a sitter. Life is way too short to miss out on fun times, and even shorter for our furry friends. So put aside your worries, and take a tour of Pune’s best pet-friendly places!
1.The Pet Project
Location: Hinjewadi, Pirangut
Spread over 4 acres of a hillside farm, The Pet Project is an initiative to bring together the best of nature, people, and, animals. The idea came into being from wanting to create an open, free space where people had the chance to explore nature while having the company of their pets and other animals at the farm.
You can indulge in activities such as nature walks, free runs, frolic in the pet pool, and even enjoy muddy puddle jumps here! They have a pool for pets, where you and your adorable pet can splash away to your heart’s content.
2.Café Two and Fours
Location: Veerbhadra Nagar, Baner
A must visit café for pet owners and pet lovers, Café Twos and Fours creates a memorable experience , blending your favorites: food and the company of your pet. As you enter you can feel the relaxed atmosphere which welcomes both you and your pet. They offer some lip-smacking dishes for you to relish, and an exclusive Pet Special menu to treat your cute furry companion.
The café was founded by a couple who are both extremely passionate about food as well as animals. The homely, serene ambience here, along with the upcyled hand-painted décor all reflect the thought, love, and care that they have put into building this place, making the experience of visiting the café a truly delightful one.
3.The Farm
Location: NDA Road
This project is an offering of love, awareness, and learning. Spread over 2 acres and adjoined by seemingly unending forest land, The Farm is a welcome getaway from the hustle-bustle of the daily grind of the city. Those of you looking for farm stays and experiences would love this place. They offer meditations, community supported agriculture, conscious dinners, and the chance to be part the making of hand crafted products among other initiatives.
The Farm supports a variety of life; it is home to several dogs, cats, birds, goats, trees, deer, butterflies, langurs, and wild boar. Pet therapy and fun sessions are organized for kids who like animals but don’t have any pets.
These were our top three recommendations for places around Pune that you absolutely have to visit if you have a pet or are just fond of animals. Apart from the obvious advantage of not having your pet behind when you decide to go on an outing in the city, doing outdoor activities together tremendously strengthen the bond between you and your pet and has enormous benefits for the physical and mental health of both you and your pet.
