After the success of its precursor the Google Pixel Fold smartphone, this year is anticipated to see the release of the much-awaited Google Pixel Fold 2.
Pixel Fold 2 is expected to make improvements in its specifications, such as design, camera, chipset, software, and more.
It has only been a year for Google Pixel Fold, it was released in June 2023.
Google Pixel Fold 2: Launch Date, Availability
Reports suggest that Pixel Fold 2 might released later this year. Like the previous year’s pattern, there are assumptions that the company might not reveal it during the Google I/O event in May.
The original Pixel Fold was released at the Google I/O event last year and there is a possibility that the second-generation Pixel Fold could be revealed in October alongside the Pixel 9 series.
However, there is no official confirmation yet, so take these details with prudence, as the dates are subject to change at Google’s sagacity.
Leaks, Design, Specs
The leaked photos recommend that the upcoming Pixel Fold 2 will have a thin screen and a design similar to the OnePlus Fold.
Also, there is a possibility of a smaller cover display than the 5.8-inch screen on the Pixel Fold. Online rumors claim about the inclusion of Google’s proprietary Tensor G4 chipset.
It is assumed that Pixel Fold 2 will support a quad-camera setup with sensors on the back of the device in addition to an LED flash and a microphone.
The camera setup is expected to feature a primary wide-angle sensor, a secondary ultra-wide-angle camera, a tertiary periscopic telephoto sensor, and an anonymous camera.
If these speculations come true, they would represent a substantial improvement over the triple rear camera setup of its precursor, the pixel fold 1.
Will it come to India?
Although several mobile brands have released their foldable phones in India, the technology remains pricey and out of reach for many users.
It may take some more years for these mobile companies to make foldable technology more budget-friendly.
Google is a new player in the foldable mobile phone market and the upcoming Pixel Fold is expected to be launched this year.
Due to sluggish sales in terms of the foldable phone market, Google may be reluctant to release its foldable device in India.
